HHS Wizard of Oz auditions will be Wednesday, January 15th-Friday, January 17th. Students who were previously signed up for an audition were sent a new sign up sheet. Mrs. Schultz’s kindergarten enjoyed their crazy sock exchange filled with toys and goodies at their Christmas party. Afterwards they shared lots of giggles wearing their socks they received.

8th Grade STEM yo-yo’s! Fun AND learning!
Mrs. Bainter’s class enjoyed their Christmas party!!! We made ornaments, played a game, and made a Christmas tree for snack!!! Thank you to all the families that donated and helped at the party!
8th Grade STEM students created DIY light up Christmas cards! They started by taking apart a purchased musical card and analyzed its mechanism. Then made their own circuit designs!
7th Grade STEM Lego Mindstorm Robot projects! Fantastic designs! They learned to program the robot as well as persevered through challenging obstacles such as software updates!
7th Grade STEM student created an extra robot- a working forklift! Created his own design and program. Working his way to be a terrific engineer!
The annual HES Christmas sing-a-long this morning was led by HHS alumni Morgan Jennings! We loved seeing Morgan back in the halls of HES doing what she loves!
The Varsity basketball games @Scotland Co that were cancelled due to weather have been rescheduled for Jan 3, 2020. Girls at 6 boys to follow. GO COUGARS!!
We ended our unit for matter! Students enjoyed making baking soda turn to a gas! Recycled Christmas ornaments were a hit!
Mrs. Geisendorfer’s class took a candy cane packaging challenge today. With limited materials and weight restrictions, students had to create a package that would keep candy canes in tact after a drop test and a slide test.
Thanks to Mrs. Huchteman and her Fashion Design Construction class for making monsters for our students, designed individually by our 1st graders. Those monsters soon became friends they can call their very own!

December’s PBS Big Ticket Item was a cookie decorating party! Students bought a ticket with their Cougar Cash to spend some time listening to Christmas music and decorating and eating some yummy sugar cookies! A big thank you to the teachers and administrators who were able to help with this fun holiday event!
