I would like to extend my gratitude to the Monticello Masonic Lodge members for their efforts in raising money to purchase a new Sawstop safety tablesaw for the Highland High School wood shop. It is awesome to have such an amazing group in our community that is willing to put so much of their personal time and efforts into raising money that will benefit our students. My appreciation also extends out to the many community members and businesses that donated to support the Masonic Lodge in their mission.

The Highland Cheerleaders are SO excited to finally share some exciting news! Last February, the squad performed a routine at a cheer and dance showcase in STL. Due to their amazing performance, they were contacted by the STL CARDINALS inviting the 2024 cheer squad to perform prior to the Cardinals vs Reds game on 9/11!
The girls are selling tickets to the game for only $25 (face value=$45). Part of the ticket sales will go back to the cheer squad to help them raise money for this upcoming season! If you are interested in purchasing a ticket, please reach out to a current squad member or complete the google form below and we will reach out to you! Thank you for your continued support and we hope to see you there! GO COUGARS!

**Important Notice Regarding Chromebooks**
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We want to inform you that Chromebooks will not be collected at the end of the school year unless your student is in 6th grade or a senior. If you have purchased insurance, coverage will extend through the summer. If you have not purchased insurance, please note that you will be responsible for any damages. Insurance will be available for purchase again for the 2024-25 school year during fall registration.
Please ensure that your child finds a safe place to store their Chromebook over the summer. Advise them not to leave the Chromebook in a car, outside, or anywhere it may get wet. The Chromebook should be stored where pets and younger children will not have access to it. For additional information about Chromebook care, please review the Chromebook Handbook located on our district website under the Parent Quick Links section.
If you know that your child will be moving to a new school for the next school year, they must turn in their Chromebook, case, and charger before the end of this school year. HHS students turn into the library and HES turn in to their homeroom teacher.
If you find out over the summer that your child will be moving to a new school for the next school year, you will need to bring the Chromebook to the district Central Office, located on the west end of the high school building. You can call 573-209-3217 and ask for Mrs. Moore or email her at smoore@lewis.k12.mo.us for further assistance.

Big THANK YOU to Mrs. Hamlin and her students for giving the 1st grade a tour of the HHS Greenhouse! Everyone got to explore the plants and take a special treat home. It was a fun hands-on learning experience for all!

Soar students had a great field trip to the Old Missouri State Penitentiary in Jefferson City. It was a fun day and they learned a lot about Missouri history, the history of the prison, and the history of correctional institutions.

The district baseball games scheduled for today at Clark Co have been cancelled. The suspended game with South Shelby will now be played tomorrow Wednesday 5/15/24 at 3pm. The winner of that game will advance to the semifinal round and play tomorrow at 7:00pm. GO COUGARS!!
