
HES students had a second Sea Perch underwater robot build day in St. Louis. They worked with members of the U.S. Navy including an admiral who shared he was impressed with our students. Cougar Proud!

Mrs. Shrader’s class partnered with 4th grade today to do some reading! The fourth graders did a great job reading and the Kindergarteners loved listening and making new friends :)

HES February Students of the Month celebrated with a Friday afternoon ice cream sundae party! We are so proud of how hard these students work every single day to be responsible, respectful, and safe at HES!

HES will be hosting our 3rd Quarter FAMILY FUN NIGHT from 5-7 this coming Tues. (3/3). Families are invited to HES for a light meal, escape room activities, & prize drawings. Please make plans to attend. We hope to see you there.🙂

As a reminder, before the start of the 2020-2021 school year, students must have all required vaccines. The Lewis County Health Department will be at Highland High on March 20, 2020 to administer required immunizations to incoming 8th grade and 12th grade students with returned signed consent. All incoming 8th grade must have the required dose of TDaP (Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis) and MCV (Meningococcal) vaccines. All incoming 12th grade students must have the required dose of MCV (Meningococcal) vaccine.If you would like for your student to receive the required immunizations, please complete, sign and return the immunization consent form to the HHS office no later than March 6, 2020. Junior high track practice begins Monday March 2 from 3:30-5:30. A current sports physical and proof of insurance must be on file in the high school office before practice begins Monday.

We tested our houses more then once to make improvements with stronger materials. The third grade kids LOVED this project!!!

Third graders finished building houses to withstand tornados and hurricanes. We had fun designing our houses as we pretended to be an engineer! More photos to come.

Mrs. Geisendorfer’s class dissected owl pellets and reconstructed the skeletons of the owls’ prey today.
