Mrs. Seals’ class was thrilled to receive their monsters today from the HHS Fashion Design and Construction class. We read “I Need My Monster” and then drew and wrote about our monsters. They were sent to the high school and the students surprised us with a special hand delivery today. My students loved them! We are so thankful for Mrs. Huchteman’s idea and collaboration!

Today was FIRE SAFETY DAY at HES. Special thanks to LaGrange Fire & Rescue, Lewis Co. R-4 Protection District, Western Lewis Co. Fire Protection, Lewis Co. Ambulance District, & Survival Flight 3. These groups spent the day talking with students about fire safety skills.
Reminder that tonight is Senior Night. Seniors involved with football, band, FFA trap shooting, Cheerleading and cross country will be recognized starting at 615. Lineup with seniors will start at 6pm.
Jr High Girls Basketball will begin practice Monday Oct. 14 at 6:45 am in the high school gym.
Reminder: Wagner Portrait Studio will be at HHS Tuesday, 10/15 for retakes and Senior composite photos. Retake order forms are available in the office. Senior forms will be sent home with the students.
Mrs. Seals’ class has the tower garden assembled. Students planted the seeds on Thursday. They practiced following step-by-step directions and counting. They are also now in the process of learning patience. The seedlings have to be 2-3 inches before they are transferred to the tower. Mrs. Seals’ class cannot thank KHQA and their sponsors enough for the one classroom at a time grant which made this possible!
Junior High Boys Basketball will begin practice Monday October 14th in the high school gym. Please make sure you have a physical and proof of insurance turned into the high school office before Monday.

Highland softball wins 4-2 versus Knox Co. Congratulations to senior pitcher Lauren Merrell for breaking the Highland career strikeout record (625, previously held by Julie Schultz 2008-2011). With 16 vs Knox Co tonight, she is currently at 633 career strikeouts.
