Tonight’s Sr. Night activities will be broadcast on the NFHS Network starting at 6pm.
With the rain that is in the forecast we encourage everyone who plans to attend Sr. Night festivities tonight at Highland to come prepared with rain gear and umbrellas. The plan at this point is to continue on with those activities as scheduled unless lightening forces us to postpone. Thank You!!

All Highland students in attendance began receiving FREE meals starting at lunch today under the new Federal waiver. Currently, this is in effect through 12-31-20. Again all Highland students can receive FREE MEALS (breakfast and lunch) at school with this waiver! #GoCougars!
The JH softball games scheduled for tonight at Clark Co have been cancelled due to weather. The games have been rescheduled for September 24 and will be played at Highland!! Gold team at 5pm Brown team to follow! GO COUGARS!!
The V/JV softball games scheduled for tonight 9/10 are cancelled due to weather. Reschedule is pending. Softball Senior Night Activities will now take place on Monday 9/14 vs. Louisiana. GO COUGARS!!
The QND Cross Country meet originally scheduled for next Tuesday has been cancelled as Illinois has closed their athletic events to competitors from out of state. A replacement meet is pending.
The 7th grade sensation Nathan Caudill started his XC career with a 3rd place medal in the Highland home meet. Landon Meyer (17th) also medaled Tuesday. The lone Highland JH XC girl, 7th grader Rylee Hopkins (13th), also started her career with a medal performance! #GoCougars
The HS Girl's XC team was also missing a couple of runners yesterday, but still finished 2nd overall. Top 5 - Macy Hamlin (6th), Carlie Davis (9th), Alexis Vaughn (12th), Morgan Keith (14th), & Kaycie Stahl (15th) all medaled, with Elizabeth Frisbie finishing 23rd. #GoCougars!
Varsity boys did not have a full team to compete on Tuesday, but would have won the meet if we had all of our runners competing. Caedon Brownell won the meet, Gage Rudd finished 2nd, Colton Rutledge was 4th, and Kyler Meyer was 15th. All medaled in the home opener. #GoCougars
The Highland Cross Country teams opened their season yesterday at the River Valley Golf Course in Canton. Caedon Brownell wins the V Boys race, Macy Hamlin (6th), Nathan Caudill (3rd) & Rylee Hopkins (13th) were the top Highland finishers in their divisions. #GoCougars
Senior Night for Highland Football, Cross Country, Cheerleading, Band and Trap Shooting is scheduled for Friday 9/11. Those Senior players and parents unable to attend will be honored at a second Senior Night that will be scheduled in the near future. Our intent is to honor all Senior parents and players at some point this season!! GO COUGARS!!

Wagner Portrait Group will be at HHS 9/17 for JH/HS school pictures. Virtual Learning students can have pictures taken between 7:15 - 8:30 a.m. by appointment only. If your JH/HS student is signed up for Virtual Learning and you want to have them added to the list to have their picture taken please call the high school office and ask for Alicia.
