LCC1 will be forced to return to Distance Learning starting tomorrow (12/3) and will last, at least, through the end of the week. Upon losing 2 more bus drivers, it is simply not feasible for the district to function with so many drivers out. More info will be shared ASAP
Link to the Updated (11/30) DAILY WELLNESS CHECKLIST for attendance at LCC1: https://bit.ly/33SGygD - Please do not attend school or school events if you cannot honestly answer NO to ALL of the questions in the Checklist. We are expecting a CDC announcement by the end of the week regarding possible updates to quarantine guidelines, but as of now this is consistent with the Local Health Department, State Health Department, CDC, and guidance under the revised quarantine rules since LCC1 has a mask mandate in place.
Please Review the following Mask Mandate Reminders: https://bit.ly/37vCZOj and make sure you & your children are properly masked when at school to assure less quarantines from school. See https://bit.ly/2KPpEbN for a graphic on how proper masking impacts quarantines at school.
JV Girls basketball at Louisiana tonight - Highland Lady Cougars defeat the Lady Bulldogs 27-23! #GoCougars
Yesterday, HES had a positive exposure with the kitchen staff, which wiped out the entire crew; however, a reserve crew of OPAA employees has allowed us to continue operating our food service at HES. No students were considered close contacts from this case.
HHS did have a positive student exposure today, which led to only 4 quarantined from school (2 from outside of school contact and 2 from not wearing masks properly). There were actually 9 more classroom close contacts, but students were properly masked and therefore can still attend school while quarantined!
A reminder for all HHS SENIOR parents: Jostens will be here tomorrow, Dec. 2, 2020, 10:30 am-11:30 am. They will be accepting orders for caps/gowns, graduation announcements , apparel and memorabilia.

Good evening Highland JR/SR High parents and guardians. I wanted to remind everyone that we will be on a hybrid schedule next week:
Brown Day: Monday/Thursday and Gold Day: Tuesday/Friday.
Also, if your student has an F in any class they will be required to attend Monday- Friday for the remainder of the semester. Please call the office or email if you have any questions.
Thanks and have a good evening.

Parents/Guardians: Please impress upon your students the importance of ALWAYS using their Chromebook cases. The Chromebook Handbook https://bit.ly/3nXtu12 Section 2.3 says, "If a Chromebook is out of the case and damaged this voids the coverage under the technology insurance."
