Highland schools will be closed today, but will run it as an AMI day. Students will have assignments to complete to earn attendance for this day, as it will not be required to be made up. No Votech travel to Hannibal today, but kids can still access classes online. Teachers will not be at school, but will post assignments in Google Classroom, to student email, or have already provided snow day work for this situation.
Students can still access their Google classrooms and work on getting work caught up as we look to return to full in-person tomorrow. Votech students should still be able to access classes online in most cases.
This will be a traditional snow day, with no virtual learning or assignments due for today. Additionally, there will not be travel to Votech due to same concerns on road conditions.
Highland schools will be closed today, Monday (1/25) due to the forecast of ice accumulation and snow throughout the day.

regarding the return to in-person learning for a full 5-days per week at both the HES and HHS buildings. As long as weather doesn't delay us, Highland will be back to full in-person learning on Monday.
Melissa Miller from The Child Center will be in our School District the week of January 25th to present to students in Grades 5-8 the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education required sexual abuse awareness program. The age appropriate programs will teach the students how to enforce boundaries and educate them on how to report inappropriate conduct that can happen in person and online. Students in these grades have received a letter for Parents and Guardians with more information from Mrs. Wiskirchen in their email or Google Classrooms. If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Wiskirchen at nwiskirchen@lewis.k12.mo.us.
