Haunted Homecoming starts tomorrow!

The JV football game scheduled for tomorrow Monday 10/7/24 at Mark Twain has been cancelled due to low player numbers.
Highland Varsity Softball won the Schuyler Co. Tournament yesterday, winning 15-0 vs Schuyler, 15-1 vs Monroe City, and 9-2 vs Brookfield. Haleigh Winter and Addy Abell each collected their 100th career hit in the championship game. Congrats ladies!

Miss. Eisenberg's kindergarten class had a blast on their field trip to Appleberry Orchards! All week they learned about pumpkins and their life cycles! Today, they learned all about the different types of pumpkins, got to feed and pet lots of animals in the barn, and played in their huge play area! 🍂🍁🎃

Mrs. Jennings' Kindergarten Class had a great time at the Appleberry Orchard Farms! We learned about pumpkins, fed the animals, and traveled on a wagon!

Thank you to all who participated in the Annual Sounds of Gold Event. What a great evening showcasing area bands!
This would not have been possible without the hard work of parents , donations, our Music Boosters and our generous community ! #GoCougars!

This week, Junior High students participated in a Book Tasting with Mrs. Garner and Mrs. Dehner. They were able to read a variety of books that are in series, realistic fiction, short stories, science fiction, sports, and horror/thriller.

It's Game Day! In honor of their last game of the season on Saturday, our Youth Football and Youth Cheerleaders are thrilled to cheer on our Cougars with the Highland Fight Song!

For more information about the "Soft Lockdown" on Tuesday 10/2/24 and LCC1, please read this letter: https://bit.ly/4er6WjN

For Junior High Families:

After a couple of tough losses to Kirksville, Jr. High softball (Brown) gets the win over Palmyra 13-6!
Due to a domestic dispute, LCC1 did briefly go into a soft lock down due to a domestic dispute in the area, but the person of interest is in police custody and so the soft lock down has ceased! There was no threat against the school - the lockdown was precautionary.
The senior members of National Honor Society held a bake sale at Friday nights game to raise money for Micayla Murphy Gammon from the Class of 2014 who is currently battling cancer. They raised $748.46. Thank you to everyone who supported their efforts.

The V/JV Softball games at Elsberry scheduled for today 10/2/24 have been cancelled and will not be made up. The Lady Cougars will be in action Saturday 10/5/24 at the Schuyler Co Varsity Softball Tournament. First game is at 9:00am. GO COUGARS!
Happy Custodian Appreciation Day to these awesome people! Thank you so much; Bill, George, Isaac, Larry, Roger, Russell, & Shaun! We are so thankful for the work that you do and the smiles you bring to LCC-1 :)
