Girls interested in playing JR High softball, there will be optional practice starting next week Monday the 5th from 5-7pm and Tuesday the 6th from 9-10:30 am.This will be an opportunity to get ahead on the upcoming season. Bring appropriate shoes and cleats for dirt/turf.

The Class of 2026 will be holding a prayer session tonight at 6pm in the Hester Community Center located in Ewing for Joe Wallace and Rider Hickerson. Classmates and Community members are invited and welcome to attend.

Today’s new case has been riding bus 14 also, so parents/guardians of students from bus 14 (Mr. Scifres) need to be monitoring their children for symptoms associated with COVID-19. If students are displaying symptoms, please keep them home.
Highland was informed of another summer school student, believed to be unrelated to yesterday’s case, who has tested positive for COVID. This time out of Mrs. Shrader’s class. Again, parents/guardians will want to monitor closely for symptoms & keep children home if sick.
Due to the forecasted excessive heat, the JH Football Open Field for Thurs 6/17 is postponed. The remaining schedule for JH football Open fields will be Thurs. 6/24 & Mon. 6/28 from 4:00-5:30 at the HHS Football Game Field.
Highland has been notified that we have had a COVID positive student at summer school in Mrs. Jennings’s class. There will not be quarantines, but parents should monitor closely for symptoms and keep kids home if they are experiencing symptoms.

The Highland Lady Cougar varsity softball team had a great day at Hannibal LaGrange University yesterday at FCA team camp. Thank you to Joe Brandenburg for the invite, and thank you to Ten Mile Baptist Church for funding the player fees.

It was another fun day at summer school. We have cooking classes, survivor camp, game shows, and retro recreation in addition to the traditional classes. Of course, we can't forget our daily prize winners.
