The Highland High School History Club had a meaningful and educational experience today!

Mrs. Susan Moore led several of our club members on a visit to Tolona Cemetery, located just across from the high school. During the visit, students learned about the lives of those buried there, learned about online research tools, and received hands-on instruction in proper headstone cleaning techniques.

The care and respect our students showed during this activity was truly commendable. They uncovered and cleaned headstones that had been hidden under grass, lichen, and dirt—helping to preserve the stories of those who came before us.

It was a powerful way to connect with local history and give back to our community.
