What. A. Day. 🐾☀️
Yesterday was one of those perfect days that reminds us just how special it is to be a Cougar. The weather was incredible, the energy was high, and the Lay Cougars swept both softball games! 💪🥎

We were honored to recognize a legendary group — the 2005 undefeated state champions — on the 20th anniversary of their historic season. Thank you to Ben Schmidt (KHQA) and Chris Duerr (Muddy River News) for helping create an amazing tribute video. It meant the world. 🎥💙

As if that wasn’t enough, history was made on the field! Coming into the day, Haleigh Winter held the career RBI record at 111. By the end of the day, three seniors had passed that mark:
🔥 Abby Lay – 112 RBI
🔥 Bailie Crist – 113 RBI
🔥 Addy Abell – 116 RBI (including 6 RBI in one day!)

Oh, and did we mention? Abby Lay also earned her 50th career win on the mound. Absolute legend! 🐐

Huge shoutouts to:
🍔 Browny Rothweiler for grilling up a storm
🌭 Kendra Scifres for feeding and hosting the whole crew in Left Field – we couldn’t have done it without you!
Thank you to Ronnie & Dianne, Peggy, Darron, Ber, & Ben for all the help with setup & clean up.

Great day. Great people. Great memories. It’s always a great day to be a Cougar. 💙🤍 #CougarPride #CougarSoftball #HistoryMade

📢 Friendly Reminder for Highland Families

We want every student to have the chance to fully participate in all school activities! 💛🤎

As a reminder, district policy states that students with school balances over $50.00 are not allowed to participate in extracurricular activities.

At Highland Elementary, this includes participation in field trips.

✅ Need to Check Your Child’s Balance?
Just give the school office a call – our secretaries are happy to help you check your child’s account.

Thank you for working with us to keep accounts up to date and make sure every child can join in on these special opportunities!

Cougar Nation continues to send our thoughts out to JT (our P-Town neighbor) while he's on his recovery journey. After all various fundraisers were totaled the LCC-1 community raised $2,878.41 for JT and his family. We are so proud of all of our student groups, teams, and school community that helped support this worthy cause Four JT's Journey.
